TRYPTYC THEORY is currently looking for a hands-on, organized and motivated Data I/O Coordinator to join our Toronto studio. 

Our Data I/O Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure the secure and accurate flow of data into and out of the studio and ensuring data is correctly organized on the internal server. The ideal candidate is resourceful, can handle and prioritize a high volume of tasks with a positive attitude and a willingness to troubleshoot.

  • Strong technical background and experience

  • Experience with secure file transfer protocols. (eg: Media Shuttle, Aspera, SFTP)

  • Understanding of image and video file formats used in the VFX pipeline.

  • Experience working within network environments.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Working knowledge of current post production procedures/pipelines, terminology, and techniques.

  • Successful candidates are organized, detail-oriented, proactive, self-sufficient, and reliable.

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada (Ontario based preferred, but we are flexible).


  • Conducting IO data transfers while adhering to security & workflow protocols.

  • Correctly organizing data on the server.

  • Ensuring file naming standards are met

  • Maintaining transfer logs.

  • Process on set data and lens information.
